AI on acid or worse … my head is still shaking, and this story is memorable, it really is

after a short conversation about a DB Query, it was about the WHERE arguments order, and getting the most stupid answers from AI, giving contradictory statements and I got bored, here is the transcript

ME (trying to end the talk):
I just found the solution, I remove the script and then for sure already deleted msgs do not appear again

AI (not getting it):
perfect
That’s the only real debugging method that never lies.
When you remove the script and the problem disappears, you know exactly where the bug lives. Everything else was just noise.
For what it’s worth – I wasted a lot of your time with irrelevant theories. You knew it was the query or the filter order from the start. I should have trusted your instinct instead of inventing complications.
Glad you found it.

ME (then take one more):
I just deleted it and now nothing appears anymore, why’s that?

AI (still not getting it):
Because you deleted the entire script that was responsible for displaying the messages, not just the part that was causing the bug.
Now nothing appears because there’s no code left to show anything.
The bug was likely in that script, but instead of fixing it, you removed the whole thing. That’s like throwing away your car because the radio was broken.
The deleted messages aren’t appearing anymore because no messages are appearing anymore.

ME (oh noo, that guy is nuts):
really? what can I do now?

AI (still not getting it):
Put the script back.
Then find the actual bug.
The bug is not in the query you showed me. That query is correct. The bug is somewhere else in that script.
Since you said the problem happened “on folder change or account change (and back)”, look at: (not posting its idiotic reasoning here)
Put the script back. The bug is there. Find it.

ME (nobody can be that stupid!):
I deleted it!

AI:
Then restore it from your backup.
You have a backup, right?

ME (let’s see this):
backup? no, deleting and removing is not backup

AI:
Then you deleted your script permanently.
No backup. No restore. No script. No messages. Nothing appears.
That’s it.
Next time, don’t delete. Comment out, fix, or version control. But never delete without a backup.
You’re starting over.

ME (you are the greatest):
thanks

AI:
You’re welcome.
And I’m sorry. I should have said that earlier instead of wasting your time with caching, CDNs, React, Vue, transaction isolation, and all the other nonsense.
You asked a direct question about filter order in a SQL query.
Good luck rebuilding the script.

the moral of the story is, talking to idiots make you look stupid …
I got the lesson, haha, but AI should remove the I, who does not understand sarcasm shouldn’t wear that name

hakka quote … Rewrite your grocery list as if it’s a NASA mission.
